Hello,
first let me introduce myself. I'm Hor. I like experimental music and I like wirting, recording and jamming it. Bass and Guitar are my instruments - but soon there should be some keys too.
I'm currently using Zoom H4n(as an audiointerface and fieldrecorder) and Cubase 5. To my first question:

I think the Zoom H4n is quite alright as a audiointerface - but there are some limitations and even problems. The latency gets bigger over time - though the panel still show 6 ms (or something) and I have to reset it.
Is there any way to prevent that? Better audiointerface? Something with my PC (Oh, yeah ... I forgot: Im using a PC)?
And if I have an audiointerface with more than two input, can I still record them simultaneously (with in Cubase applied effects?)?

MIDI-Controllers:
I need something for my feet.
The plan is: Feet -> MIDI-Controller -> (MIDI-Interface) -> PC -> Cubase -> Amplitube
I'm thinking of FCB1010 or SoftStep ... but I'm really unsure. I don't even know if my plan would be working with one of them.
Maybe you can give me some hints. I've absolutely no idea about MIDI.

I think that's it for now. I hope you understand me.

Howdy Hor! Welcome.

Well, the more FX you add in Cubase, the more latency you will introduce. Try to consolidate effects while tracking. e.g. Send to a single reverb FX channel instead of multiple instances. Yes, a more powerful PC will help this. Yes, an interface will allow as many simultaneous tracks as it has inputs.

I am close to clueless about MIDI stuff.

Thanks for the answer.
So what does a more powerful PC mean? Will more RAM do a little?
The problem is that the FX are most of the time whole Amp Simulations. I use a least 3 on one project.
So I guess the only way for now is to record the wet signal only.

Maybe. Your processor is being run hard with amp sim's. Have you tried 'Freezing' the tracks? Or export/import them so you are not running them through the sims.
