Hi everybody,
I dont know from where I should start in order 2 remix a song, there is a lot of QUESTIONS inside me, I hope someone here can help me!!

What is the basic theories should i learn 2 begain a remix?
LIKE:

1-What is the suitable software?
2-What is the suitable equipments? [Note, that I have no money fot it!]
3-How can I remove vocals from the basic track or the basic song? I mean if i want 2 cut the singer voice.
4-Can i Remix without using any equipments except the Computer?
5-What is the difference between BPM and Pitch?
6-Is it necessary 2 make all the tracks on the same BPM or not?
7-When I should use the pitch and in the other case I should use BPM?
8-I dont know if I should work in the entire basic song that I want 2 remix it and add 2 it my loops, samples..etc, or maybe I have 2 cut the song 2 parts, so it will be easy 2 determine the time or anything else?!?
9-In some songs there is one frame repeat itself like [Free Styler - Bomfunk mc's] when he says FreeFFFFFree Styler. ANYONE CAN UNDERSTAND? ;-] .... I want 2 make it,HOW? & what software can make me do it?
10-How 2 rearrange the drum beats? I mean how 2 repeat the final beat of the loop 2 make it like a snare fill & adjust the tempo in this phrase 2 be faster than its start? And in the same time u keep urself up 2 date with ur beats, no beat comes out ur REMIX?
SORRY 4 MY STRANGE ACCENT

I hope u can understand what I mean.
My real proplem that i have no one can teach me and everything in my life i do it alone.. PLZ NO CRY ;-(

Thankx

phew Hashoma, big question, but don't panic...

I don't remix myself, so I hope any members outthere can provide you with any solid links to good remix sites. But in general, it seems to me that if you would want to remix a song, you would have to have the song as different tracks in Cakewalk, i.e. drumtrack, bass, vocals, synths (or am I wrong?). Otherwise, for instance if you just took a song from a CD, you could only cut the audio up so and so much, and/or add you own samples, beats, timestretch and such.
I'll try to answer some of your questions, and hope others will fill up the many gaps in it.

1. Well, since you've posted here I'll assume you have Cakewalk. So let's take that as your basis.
2. Since you've got no money for it, let's skip any hardware and stick to your PC-setup. (I couldn't give you any hardware recommendations either, cause I don't remix).
3. That's a little hard, since the vocals are integrated in the song (if you took that song from the CD). You could try the free AnalogX plug-in (Vocal Remover, http://www.analogx.com/files/vremover.exe). It claims to work in a lot of cases. Read about it at their website.
4. I think so, and in your case, you'll need to, right?
5. BPM (Beats Per Minute) is, er, the amount of beats per minute your song does. For instance, a mid-tempo popsong could do about 120 BPM, that could be one bassdrum and one snare every second.
Say you have a really cool sample of a flute, and you would add that to your song, but it's just slightly out of tune. In that case you could alter the pitch of that sample to try to match it to the song. The more you pitch a sample though, the worse it will sound.
6. Well, it would be at least very advisable. Also I think a song can have only one amount of BPM (right?), which is already determined by the specific target song. You could, however, speed the song up in general, or slow it down (or maybe even parts of it, for that sake).
7. see 6.
8. I'm not sure what you mean...
9. If you'd want to fiddle around with the audio parts, you would have to cut, copy and paste certain parts of it and listen to the result. Trial and error. If you were to use a midi based loop, you can just add snares and the likes anywhere in the loop.
10. I think I'll have to give the same answer, since I don't know if you use audio beats as a basis or midi. If the latter, it's fairly easy, just open up the midi window and add snares towards the end of the bar to make a snare roll. In case of audio, you'll have to copy and paste again, which is harder. Magnify the audio part and try and listen to the result. Luckily you can undo forever in Cakewalk.

That's all I can say for now. I hope others will add/correct. I have noone to teach me either, that's why I stop by here frequently.

Hope I could help you a little bit...

Hi Tabnak,
Thank u,
I have many APPz that can help to do a remix,& also I have the ideas in my mind to make the new style of the music I want to make.
COOLEDIT PRO, ACID PRO, CAKEWALK PRO AUDIO 8.4, Rebirth RB-338 2.0 & MANY OTHERS.
Lets say that I'll remix a song like They dont care about us for MJ
I mean that I'll put the song in a single track and start put the music loops and samples in other tracks like this:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Track(1) - The song , It mentions no tempo in ACID PRO,cuz its a big.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Track(2) - Loops , for ex. 140 Bpm
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Track(3) - Other Samples
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. [How can I sync the one phrase to one or 2 loops for ex.;-)]
-----------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Track(1) !All I want to say that, they dont care about us!
---------!-----------------------------------------------!------------
Track(2) !-------------This is my loop-------------------!
---------!-----------------------------------------------!------------
I mean that I want to finish the first phrase at one or two parts of LOOPS!. And again when the second phrase of the song begains will sync at the beginning of the same loop or other loop or any music I had made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Track(1) !Skin head,death head,everybody gone bad--------!
---------!-----------------------------------------------!------------
Track(2) !----------------The same loop------------------!
---------!-----------------------------------------------!------------
If we take a look at the end of the sentence[everybody gone bad], I see apart contain no words & the loop still running & not finished!

2. What functions in cooledit pro or acid pro or any other can do that?

3. I feel that the original song doesnt match the new music, even they are sync in one time! what is the proplem?

4. There are always beats comes in the wrong times!
I hear somebody here says [DAMN ON YOU] never mind.

5. there is a conflict between the original beats of the song and the loop... In number of beats.
