Hung-over... I miced a Valve junior for guitars... and a Pignose for leads!! :D :D
DI bass and drums on a Yamaha DD55
...can't say that micing an amp made much difference in guitarsounds compared to my DI recordings?? :(
maybe a tad more heavy on the chugging part at 01:49??
..other than that a crapload of bleed and noise...

...playing with feedback is fun.

:o  :D

The whole thing sounds a bit like it's playing through a filter, a hang over filter. The guitars could come up, the bass down, the drums sound small and tinny. Maybe it's just the hat sounding bad. The guitar sounds are good, I think they just need to be balanced with everything else. Cool tune.

Oh man, this is a very bad mix dude. You recorded your guitars way too hot and have a bad mic placement. The overheads and the kick were also way too hot. You have too many lows in the mix. Lastly, yes you have alot of bleed. The bass is the only thing worth keeping.

The mix is pretty rough...but i dug the tune. It sounds like you've got some talent. Just keep working on the recording/mixing aspect.

Some of the things that you could start with:
The mix is boomy, try cutting anything some stuff out from 80-100Hz, in the tracks that are not supposed to have a bunch of that. The bass and guitar also sound boomy. The guitar tracks lacked bite, they need a little something around 2-3k.

That should get you started...like I said, cool tune though!

Thanks for keeping me alert guys!! :o

Can't do much with drumsounds machine is a machine... I can't even adjust the levels of single drums..
bass is haphazard, since opinions vary, I'm leaving it alone. :D

Guitars too hot??... the mic placement issues are new to me, and since all the bleed and noise I'll probably be sticking it DI in the near future. Hell... The difference in sound is something I can't spot, But if someone wants to hear a speaker miced I'll let them. :D

Jouni,
What is it you wanted?
The mix is bottom heavy. The rhythm guitars fizz over head.
The Piggy solos sound fine.
Too much effect on the bass - sounds like a Geezer around paranoid erawhen he's doing the atmospheric yet muddy stuff.
It's just a messy mix all the way from eqing to panning.
Wait until the hangover is gone & get started re mixing.
Mic placement will garner great results but you'll have to research & then experiment to find what suits your gear.

The whole sharade was to get an opinion of the song and maybe the guitarsounds, then I buried the gits!.. :D

Well tried out an after-hungover mix:

..usually too lazy for that... remixing,.. even more so with retracking..simply because I'm usually working on an other ong the next day.. Like now, readily forgot this song and been building the next this day... :o

Get a new drum machine... Just kidding. The guitars do sound fizzy. The lead actually sounds pretty cool though. Also the rhythem guitars just don't stand out, the bass and drums seem to be squashing them.

Pretty basic straight forward stuff with some cool sounding leads.
