I use superior drummer, Its basically the same as ezdrummer. The samples have a little processing on them already, but I end up doing a lot of eq and comping of my own. I've never used the metalheads expansion, but I know that some of thos expansions just dont sound good. The drumkit from hell is one that a lot of newcomers to home recording tend to use, and it flat just doesnt sound very good. Superior drummer is a far better set of samples, specifically the metal foundry for heavier types of music.
SO! Here come specifics that I hear need some adjusting.
The drum "performance" is a bit odd. In the intro for example, I hear ride and hi hats playing at the same time. I think for the most part you have the hats playing through the whole song. A drummer would be playing one cymbal at a time with the exception being accenting crashes. The hats also have way too much "sizzle". I dont know if you eq'ed them at all or if thats just how the metalheads hats are, but they need to be tamed! Cut some of those really high frequencies.
The snare is pretty good. Very compressed, but perfect for this type of music. The kick sounds like whacking a piece of paper with a pencil. There is definitely some low end in there, but you need to dip out some of the mids. I usually solo the kick, start with a wide "q" and just sweep the frequencies until you find one that sounds aweful. Then dip that frequency. I usually end up boosting some of the high end for more clarity but I do that in the mix, not solo'ed. You'll almost always end up over boosting the click when the kick is solo'ed.
The guitar sounds great though! And I couldn't hear the bass guitar getting out of hand at all. Well done. I think with a proper drum track this mix could sound great.
