Heavy rock tune (Dead or Alive)

just put up a tune called "Dead or Alive" that you can check out. It's more in a heavy rock kind of style and was originally intended to go on a compilation CD for a possible low buget film thing.

Sounding pretty good man....very interesting tune. I like it. Nice vocals. Great vibe to the whole thing. :cool:

I agree the kick doesn't seem to fit quite right with the guitar tone...maybe a kick with a bit more thud, less click would sound a bit better. Still pretty cool though.
 
very cool, thanks for the feed back on that kick. It didn't occur to me initially, but I think listening to it, I can feel out those comments definitely.

I'm not sure I'd label this heavy rock but,..anyway.
I liked the tune. I agree with an earlier post about the vocs. I really like the sound of 'em. I think though that a couple vocal lines need changed. Such as in the chorus,..I would have liked them to have more depth to set them off from the verse.
I dont really agree with the kick comments though. I think it's just out of balance with the snare. If the snare were more pronounced and cut through better,..I think it would be better than muddying the kick.
I couldnt really here the bass very well. The guitar tones are great.
As far as writing,...I didnt like that break part at all.

Forget that comment about the bass that I made. I listened to it again,..and it actually comes through pretty good.

Lee you really have your stuff together.
This is a good recording & mix.
I'd prefer more thud from the bass pedal but I know it's not popular anymore - a result of DM I guess.
The bass does miss some definition on occassion. It still thuds through just misses some top end.
Very good work by you & the band.

The extra set of ears definitely put another spin on the whole process! I'm working out the tune and hope to improve upon it :)
