I want to hear some technical advice, and any creative opinions. I have a lot of ideas going around in my head, so I just need some input on what you like or don't like. What does it remind you of imagery wise? Say anything technical too (snare too high, kick too high, etc). I plan to expand and bring in some electric guitar. I don't want powerchords with distortion, I think I will go for a more of a spacey lead feel.

Anyway, here tis:

Oh and eventually it will have lyrics, probably dealing with sex. Not sure yet.

sounds very well mixed, but very unmusical to my ears. No chord progression, no melody etc.

but then again, I am not familiar with this genre

semi,
The "regular" drum patterns spoil the piece.

I understand the chord progression part, I reuploaded since you said that. Changes that you may not hear, but I can. Thanks, and although it shouldn't have as much melody as Pink Floyd, it should have some.

rayc, could you explain a little more? Or give a time of the specific drums? or were all of them regular and boring? EDIT: or is it the actual drums samples that sound too regular and not the patterns?

The percussion is varied and cool. The synthesizer is a bit monotonous at that pitch though. It might bode well as a backing track if you were to add vocals, different synths etc. You've got a good start to something....just need to add some more to it.

Semi.
When a short pattern, & I'm making a bold asumption that some of the drums sounds are preprogrammed patterns that you hit the button for, pops up as opposed to isolated ounds or stretched pattens I... I think I get pulled into the pattern but it doesn't persist so I get wrong footed. Like watching a disrythmic person dancing without music.
Sorry... I can't explain... I LIKE the piece BUT...

I definately see what you mean about the beats changing. No I definately made up all of the beats with just my single samples. I think that if this were a song on the radio with lyrics, it would be unthinkable that you'd use preprogrammed stuff. I will work on consistent drumming, but still with variety. Thanks.

ido1957, thanks. I agree with everything you said, we are on the same page.

this is right up my alley man I'm really digging it. I love anything with synths and noisey. Id like to hear more dominating drums maybe .. that might be saying it wrong. I kept feeling like the drums were going to kick up somewhere in the song and they stayed kind of in the background. Just an opinion, overall thought this was pretty cool.
Take care
