I think Im going to stop saying things in this forum...I aint got a clue..all sounds slick and very professional to me..and you do this in a home studio?

Bass sounded fine to me...

good stuff man! :)

Nice. One of the most balanced and pro souding mixes I've heard from you. Maybe the drums are a little bit "dark" sounding. Can use a little sparkle. Besides that, sounds great!

No, the bass isn't too loud at all...sound great ido :)!

You've definitely made tons of progress on this one as it sounds better each time you tweak. I agree with rami about the drums, but very cool nonetheless .

Hey kcearl - Your feedback is greatly appreciated - I think everybody's opinion is important. And I encourage you to keep contributing, listening and commenting.

Thanks for the kind words Rami. I've been struggling lately with mixing "in the box" and so it's good to hear that it is coming together. I miss my analog setup.

I've left the drums "as is" from Jason with just a volume button adjustment to fit the mix. I might just add a bit of highs but I'm afraid to overdo it. It won't be today though - you probably know all about mixing "burn out"... :D

Sounds good.
That's what I like to hear! Thanks man!

Good one Gerry.
The only thing missing from your tunes has been a real drummer. There is that "darkness" but it works well anyway.
Congratulations.

Good song, Gerry,

I think the bass is right where it should be. It's not too dominant. No nits from me.

Wig:)

Thanks Ray - the drums are great aren't they? They do make a big difference.

Thanks Wig - Bass is my weak mixing point. My room needs better treatment cause my monitors sound bass heavy right now.

Nice! Great performance all around - great drums! I'm trying to put midi drums down for a reference on the song I posted here and it's not going well :o - There's an advantage to real drums properly recorded, and there's an even bigger advantage to a real drummer, of course.

I finally got decent monitors and a sub - I was thinking the bass was too loud (before I read your question), but I think I have my sub up too loud - I'm still getting that part down.

Is the lead vocal track a mono or a stereo track to begin with?

Thanks Antichef - Send PoeticIntensity (Jason) a PM about drumming for you....

The vocals are a mono track. In Sonar I set them to mix down in stereo (there's a stereo "button" on the mixer). Along with the stereo reverb it seems to spread them out somewhat.

working on it :D

that explains it - the lead vox seemed split to me, which wasn't bad, it's just that it seemed like there was more on the sides than there was in the middle and I couldn't figure it out.
