Hearing Metronome, Recorded Tracks and What You are tracking at the same time?

This is a confusing question, but i'll do the best I can to describe my situation.

I have an Audiophile 2496, SB Live, and a Behringher 1604A mixer. I want to be able to monitor the mix from the audiophile's analog outs but also be able to hear the SB Live's built in synth for a metronome.

Here is how I have everything set up:

Main Mixer Outs -> Audiophile Analog Ins
Alt 3-4 Outs -> Y Adapter -> SB Live 1/8" Line In
Audiophile Analog Outs -> Tape In on mixer
SB Live Out -> Y Adapter -> Into a channel on the mixer
Control Room outs on mixer -> speakers

When recording....

Channels 1 and 2 go out the main outs into the audiophile
Channels 3 and 4 go out the alt 3-4 outs into the Sb-Live

So if i wanted to record 4 tracks at once...I would pan channel 1 left, channel 2 right, channel 3 left on the alt 3-4 outs and channel 4 right on the alt 3-4 outs. I would set is so i am monitoring the tape ins (outs from the audiophile; to monitor all prerecorded tracks), the main mix and the alt 3-4 mix and i set it to only record the main mix and the alt 3-4 outs (not the tape ins).

The problem is....i have the outs from the SB Live running into an empty channel on the main mix and there is nothing I can do so it wont be recorded allong with the other 4 channels. There is nowhere else I can route it so it is not recorded.

Am I going to have to prerecord a click track first (just make an audiotrack of the clicks so it will come out of the audiophiles outs)? What do most of you use for a metronome...how do you have it set up?

Thanks For Your Help,
Scott

I would consider jerking out that SB and using the AP exclusively. Im suprised you dont have timing issues. Your software may have a metronome click device built in. I know in Logic I can use audio instrument 64 with a klopgiest instrument click for my metronome click track.
