Yeah, it looks good...

Wait, the microphone? I was looking at your avatar.

Got Mine

Mine arrived on Friday. Just did a quick test in my friends studio tonight.

The seller ships usps and charges 10 for shipping and $2.30 for insurance.

The mic appears new and unused in original packaging so everything seems OK to me.

I got a v67g for $72 on eBay recently, from a seller named moncdawg. There don't seem to be any available through him/her right now, but I bet there'll be more for sale any day now. Shipping was $10, including insurance. The mic was brand new, and works great! I strongly recommend buying from this seller if you can. $82 total for a new v67g is amazing!

Too bad the shipping would probably be about as much as the mic... I'm still pondering getting a few, 'cause thats a really nice price. And a few extra mics always come in handy.

BasPer, shipping to the Netherlands would be $22, I doubt that Sweden would be much higher...

But he wants international payers to pay via BidPay.com or Western Union Money Transfer.
1) I don't have a creditcard (so no bidpay)
2) WUMT costs €20 over here, so that would total the mic to about €98, and soon they'll sell here in Holland for €109... I'll pay 10 more and skip all the international hassle...

The 2003 is hardly the same mic as the V67G. Now some people might prefer their 67G to the 2003 but they are not the same at all.

Hello Innovations,

I have two Marshall MXLV67G's and I really like them a lot.

However, I don't have the MXL2003... could you please tell me your opinion of the 2003 and the V67 and what are the differences between them (in a nutshell) thank you very much.

I asked this in another thread, but noone there knew. Does anyone know any retailers that have the v67b (the black one) for $80 bucks or so?

In case you are wondering, they are the same mic, but I think the green/gold is butt-ugly (or maybe it's too damn pretty- whatever)

My bad, I wasn't paying attention.

I think I read somewhere that SamAsh sold the V67b series mic's... and I believe SamAsh is out of business, so you may have a hard time finding a B series. Maybe keep an eye on ebay and stuff.

Actually I do not own either at the moment. I have two V93M (which are the same as the 2003) arriving tomorrow so that is why I was on top of this.

The general opinion is that the 2003, with its thinner diaphram, is a very bright, perhaps harsh, mic. The V67, with a thicker diaphram, is described as a warmer, perhaps muddy, mic.

I considered both seriously, particularly since their net price is comparable. From what I heard on www.thelisteningsessions.com the 2003 seemed to draw more resonances on the low notes. I am hoping therefore that it will work well on my bass voice.

Mars Music sold several MXL mics in pewter color bodies with an M designation. Sam Ash to my knowledge is still in business. Much of Mars Music's old stock is being sold by Musiciansfriend.com
