Beyerdynamic DT 100 (400 Ohm) Closed Studio Headphones

Sony MDR700 headphones

anyones opinions on these would be great, pro n cons very welcome.

Thanks

Hi Melsi, What's your application?.........

the MDR series are very good for general apps. (I have a set, not the 700 though).
Specifically, the 700 lends itself more to the live 'vinyl disc' jockey, rap artist, with their super swivel style set-up. (I just repaired a set of these!)..I like them, but wouldn't use them in my studio, very bassy.)

DT100's ....?????....Never used them.

Just my 2 cents...

SSpit

thanks for the advice, yeah i would be using them for recording vocals.

Thanks

i have a bunch of MDR-7502 headphones... i dont like them very much, they are what i make the band use when im recording... they have a good response but dont seal well

use a closed phone.. helps keep the bleed through into the mic down... plus they seem to have a better bas response (since theyre closed around the ear)
maybe thats what the 700's are

??

Melsi....if they're to be used for vocal monitoring, and you can get the MDR's at a good price, you'll be fine.

I have some MDR's, I like them, esp. for their price. I use them for some tracking, they get the job done, so I can't complain.

which model number of the Sony MDR's are your talking about and which are the best ones for studio monitoring?

For $99 you could get Sennheiser HD 280 Pros.

They are quite flat, with closed back design...can also be used for monitoring reference during mixing. No hyper bass frequencies.

Cheap phones with good all around use...tracking/mixing.

Hey, anyone have experience with those headphone called I think "Moreme" headphones? Someone used to always promo them on the board a while ago, I have a link to them on my home computer so I'm not 100% on the name.

Melsi......go with the above.....good phones for little $$$.
And, like Jamz said,....not 'hyped-up' in the bass regions.
