i have a three person band and i plan on buy the behringer headphone amp.. what do you guys think that the best pair(s) of headphones would be just for hearing purposes? for example if the guitar player couldnt hear himself becuase the drums were so loud then he would use what pair of headphones?

If isolation is a big concern then there's the Extreme Isolation Headphones... Warren at Front End Audio carries them.....

If power handling is a concern (ie - handling loud levels without breaking-up) then the only one is the Audio Technica ATH-M40fs - handles 3 times the power of any other can.....

Ya im also in the same boat but im a drummer and i need to be able to hear the guitar when im tracking, I want very isolated headphones with high volume becouse high volume alone is not good for the health of my already damaged ears, I was looking at the akg k171s wat does anybody think?

I repeat...... If isolation is a big concern then there's the Extreme Isolation Headphones... Warren at Front End Audio carries them.....

Ok but whats the sound like bear

yeah vangore ... were both talkin about the exact same thing.... i am a drummer as well and i can hear the guitar sometimes.... someone help us

if you're just playing drums to them, what the heck does it matter what they sound like?

yeah i dont mind what it sounds like really as long as i can hear

You guys kill me........

As far as I know, there is no headphone that has better isolation than the Extreme Isolation cans -- you get those if you need to block out the sound in the room you're recording in.... they sound perfectly fine, but for monitoring, who the hell cares anyways???? Are you a fuckin' diva??? You're tracking drums for chris'sakes!!! ;) :D

Also as far as I know, the Audio-Technica's that I mentioned are the only ones rated to handle 1.2 watts rather than the 300-600 milliWatts the other cans can handle.

If you have good isolation, you don't need them loud..... and vice versa..... to save your ears, you're better off getting cans with good isolation rather than cans than you can crank.................

Are you asking what are cheap, loud headphones that isolate fairly well, or what's the best phones for sound quality AND great isolation?

MoreMe! Cheap, loud, and isolate fairly well. I got a pair.
They are not Extreme Isolation, heck they isolate okay and you can push them until you go deaf (pretty loud). $30 w/ shipping for the regular $35 w/shipping for the Deluxe. The rest, check out Harvey's site.

Otherwise Blue Bear already told you the stuff to get. He's a pro, has tried (several different brands) probably all of them, and knows what works.
