Headphone/ Sound help?

I've just bought a tascam us 800 and i'm only getting sound out one ear of my headphones can anyone tell me how to get sound out both? After i've recorded a track and play it back it then comes out both ears but can only hear the guitar out the left earphone when recording.

My guess is you have your DAW armed track setup as stereo. Record the guitar signal to a mono track.
