just sharing a song...

written out of frustration over the iraq mess....

i used Sony ACID to write/create this drum track..
i rather like it, but have since moved onto Superior for canned drums....now reconsidering....

was wondering if anyone else has used ACID, and if so, what was the consensus?

Very cool ambulance effect on the guitar! Nice guitar solo tone. Well performed and produced.

Simply, very nice!

thanks for listening

glad you liked it, yeeah, the ambulance effect....
that's always fun with a locking trem!
LOL

i had to do two tracks of it, and have it play against itself, like multiple sirens going at once, but you hear it in the distance, like with a doppler effect....
i had to track this several different times, and choose the tracks that worked best for timing.
the first track is easy!
but the following tracks are hard....

Sounds good to me. I'm only listening on a phone with ear buds though so can't really comment on the mix. I can hear everything well and liked the tune. Kind of reminded me of early Guns n Roses. This could sit well with the Appetite era.

Good stuff :thumbs up:

To my ears, your stuff always sounds like it just got back from the ME. Sounds great. One small tweak? The harmony ooohh's after 2.00: you could bring 'em up, honest. Don't have to, of course. It's all judgement call stuff with your mixes.

mr clean
ear buds, that's still ok....
i mean, a LOT of folks ONLY listen in ear buds!
LOL

i do check mixes thru (2) sets of ear buds i have......
as long as they are the silicone-style 'in-ear' type buds that block outside sound....
you get a LOT of bass with those, and it's good for checking woofy mixes....

dobro
thanks for listening, and the nice comments

the oohs, yep, you're not the only one that's requested a bump in volume for those...

for my mind, i thought it needed something further down in the mix, at that specific moment, to bring the listener deeper into the mix.....
because right after that, it gets intense again......

Yeah, I get that. I'd argue that the ooohhs are a case of 'a change is as good as a rest', and that the intensity that follows is just as intense. Another thing you could do is *cut* everything around the bvs while they're doing their thing. Probably doesn't appeal, though.

i don't know, that might be a cool experiment!

i'll try it......
