does anyone know how to check the software level on the HD24. I can't find it anywhere and the manual doesn't mention it.

On the front, press the Utility button. Go to Utility15 by continiuously pressing the Utility button til is says Utility15 "System Info". Once there, use the "up" arrow button (it says yes on it) to see which OS your HD24 is running.
