Alright...how 'bout this?

Okay...no one seems to know the answer to this. So, Let me ask if anyone has had any luck gettn' thru to the Aardvark tech help guys, or best way to get their help??

Seems a simple thing that ought to work, and obviously if you can't direct your playback thru the headphones...it cancels out the whole prospects of homerecording thru the computer.

Might be just me, but it appears as if my original question/thread disappeared.

I'm wondering how to get the playback on Cakewalk to come thru my headphones. I'm plugged into the Aardvark four input box. I read the Aardvark manual, and set my patch bay up as they suggested to get both the audio signal going in, and the other tracks already laid down to come thru my headphones, but its not happening. No matter what I do thus far, I'm getting the playback/tracks laid down coming thru the computer's speakers only.

Obviously, that's not good, and will add up to feedback.

any suggestions will be appreciated.

Check out this thread , it may help.

I haven't ever tried to call the tech support at aark, but have gotten pretty quick response through emails.

I have same problem hearing playback through Aardvark from Cakewalk....I've decided to record a click track for a whole tune from the computer speakers onto track Cakewalk track 10..then I sould be able to assemble a tune properly

This must be something buried in Cakewalk somewhere, I know the aark will do this. You might want to try the Cakewalk forum.

kind of similar

I have had problems getting a sufficient recording volume level through the headphones while tracking. What I've done is turn up the monitor level (on the Aardvark virtual control board) and turn down the master on my software mixing board (I use N-track).

It sounds like you might be using low impedence headphones. You need high impedence; I forget how much, you should check the manual. You could also use a headphone amp.

I also have found Aardvark info to be responsive to e-mails.

This isn't my field; however, after doing research and reading for my new Yam 2816, I came across some information that might help.

Since you have a system that incorporates digital devices dangling and connecting, CHECK YOUR TIME CLOCK SYNC.

From what I've read, [and I'm not into that system] you must have the time clock synced when you are hooking up one digital device to another.

This may have nothing to do with your problem; I just offer it as a possibility.
