Hey everybody.
I'm having problems with my interface
. I'm using a digidesign mbox 2 interface. This is the situation: I borrowed the digidesign mbox 2 interface from a friend who uses Pro Tools LE. The mbox 2 interface easily works on his Mac with Pro Tools LE. On my Windows, I use Fruity Loops 9. However, Fruity Loops is only compatible with an ASIO driver. My computer doesn't have an ASIO driver, so I did some quick research to find out how I could fix that problem. I downloaded a program called ASIO4ALL and installed it. ASIO4ALL installed correctly, it's just that it won't recognize my digidesign mbox 2 interface. When I open up ASIO4ALL's settings, the only audio devices found are my webcam's microphone, and my headset's microphone. If I select one of those microphones to record with, they do work in Fruity Loops, but I'm obviously wanting to record with my dynamic mic run through my mbox 2 interface and not my headset's microphone. ASIO4ALL says it only recognizes WDMs (Windows Driver Models), and I don't know how to make my computer recognize my mbox 2 interface as a WDM (if that's possible). I researched some more, and found another program to try. I downloaded an ASIO USB driver program (a trial version) and it detected my interface. When I tried to record myself talking in Fruity Loops to test it and see if it worked, it did record my voice (using the dynamic mic ran through the interface). However, the trial version adds an annoying beep every 30 seconds into the mix. Is there any way I can avoid having to buy the 40-50 dollar program just to record with the mbox 2 interface on my computer?
