how can u get outputs 3/4 to play at the same time that output 1/2 are playing. i been playing with it but i cant get it to work. :p i need serious help cause i want to hear my headphones thru the out 3/4 port.

Are you talking about monitoring your input or for mixing? If you're mixing, you could create a seperate headphone mix in your software and send it to outputs 3 & 4.

no i just want to monitor the hw out 3/4 and the hw out 1/2 at the same time. i want music to come out of all 4 out ports.

you probably need to be a bit more specific about what software you're using... i can think of a very easy way of doing it in Cubase, but wouldn't be able to tell you about any other piece of software ... or are you talking about using a media program like Windows Media (or whatever) ? you'd need to do something in the Delta 66 mixer to do that - i'm not at my home computer right now, so i couldn't say exactly what.

I only have experience with Cubase SX and Adobe Audition...in each case you have to tell the software which outputs on the card to play through. I have a delta 1010 and 2 Delta 410s giving me 24 outputs back to my mixer. I just asign each track in the software to a different set of outputs and hard pan them....... so track 1 in cubase would go to output 1/2 hard panned left, track 2 goes to output 1/2 hard panned right, track 3 to output 3/4 hard panned left....you get the idea

Hope that helps some

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure the only way you're gonna get the same thing to go to both outputs is to set up sends and a seperate "headphone" bus in your recording software. You control which output channel your tracks are sent to in your recording software. In the Delta mixer, you can assign inputs to outputs, but that's just for input monitoring. You'll have to set up a seperate mix. What software are you using?

Actually, this is easy to do, and doesn't matter what software you're using. You need to go into the Delta sw mixer/patchbay app. click on the patchbay tab and select the same source for both 1/2 and 3/4 outputs (say Wave input 1/2, or monitor mix).

You can get a little more complicated and set up a seperate sub buss in your software for the headphone mix, and drive that buss with one of your aux sends. Then set the output of the sub buss to Delta 3/4 outs, and your main stereo buss to Delta 1/2 outs. Back in the Delta sw patchbay, set the 1/2 outputs to Wave out 1/2, and the 3/4 outputs to Wave out 3/4.

You really need to read the directions on the Delta 66, there's stuff there that isn't all that obvious.

Cheers,

im using samplitude 7.0 .........i should be able to hear output thru all four ports. even if im jus playing music off of windows media. i should be able to hear my music play thru all four ports if i put four headphones in it right.

My Delta 66 does not have the option to send the monitor mix or outputs 1/2 to outputs 3/4. Like the others have said, you can setup a subgroup to go to outputs 3/4. You can also get a headphone amp or small mixer for routing. The only thing I've used outs 3/4 for, was routing through outboard effects.

A couple of things here....the outputs of the delta are line level (pretty low level compared to what comes out of a headphone amp), and each output is mono (it takes two outputs to make stereo).

Oops, right you are Scrubs, about the 3/4 routing option. This can still be done though......

Output Samplitude to Delta 3/4.
Route HW out 3/4 from wave out 3/4.
Route HW out 1/2 from monitor mix.
Bring up Wave out 3/4 in monitor mix.

This should give both sets of Delta outputs the same stereo buss feed from Samplitude. Great program, by the way. :) You can do some nice recordings with it and the Delta 66.

RD
