Have Mackie Onyx 1220+FW, want Onyx 400F? 1200F

Not much love here for the 400F... That's a shame because the AD/DA Convertors in the 400F are very very good. I'm using a ADL 600 tube pre into the 400F and it is a quite nice, no apologies needed, signal path. In fact, the convertors alone keep me using the 400F. The Onyx pre's compare very favorably with something like the Grace. Very clear and uncolored.
 
I have 2 Eisen kits on the way. I ordered all the parts to build 2 api 512 clones. Grand total including shipping for everything came out to $325 per board. With lots of extra passive components left over. I have jensen and cinemag transformers coming and even Seventh Circle sc25 op amps. Should be top notch. But you could build cheaper ones too.
So to make a new 500 series rack would be total with an api 6 lunchbox is $1075. Or $1725 for 4 channels. Great deal I think and Jens at Eisen audio is great with info and stuff.
With these and my pair of UA 610's I will have a alot covered! Waiting impatiently by mailbox.......
