hi all i have hs2002 and love it. i only record 1 trk. at a time and have had great sucess. what wuold be the biggest adv. of upgrading to sonar. sys 735 mhz. 256md ram dual h.d. 1 apps. 1 audio only. thanx

I don't believe your system meets the min. req's for Sonar 3 (same reason I haven't upgradedpattygram said:
). So unless you are thinking of an earlier verions of Sonar (if they are still available) you probably want to wait until you upgrade your hardware.

...or get Home Studio 2004 which has most of the feaures Sonar 2.x had including ASIO driver support, the DXi rack and support for multi-input cards.

With 2.7 gig computers being sold everywhere for around 500-600 bucks I would definately look to upgrade your rig. You're going to be running into performance problems.

when I looked at the new cakewalk software the one that seemed to have the most bang for the buck was that home studio 2004..
a couple of people have recommended that one to me as well

I have Home Studio 2002 and Sonar 2.2XL. If you only need to record 1 track at a time then I don't really see the need to upgrade. The main reason I got Sonar is I am a drummer and only being able to record 2 tracks at once is a real pain, and kinda wasn't really useful with a C Port.
In HS2002 you can get latency really low if you have a decent sound card, and you can still use DXi synths and effect plugins. I would upgrade you're computer before anything else, just like HogansHiro said.

well i think im goint to hs2004. as usual this forum points me in the right direction. one thing about my rig. ive been using hs2002 for about a year and after adding a second h.d. for audio only it runs like a dream. but i might still upgrade. any one wanting better performance should absolutly add a second h.d. its the single most benificial thing i have done to maximixe cakewalk.

What is wrong with HS2002? what does it not do that you want it to do? That is the question I'd ask to see if I need to upgrade to anything??
