Has anyone tried the JoeMeek JM37 or JM37-DP mics?

I haven't seen or tried these new LDC mics in person, and I'm curious to see what others that own them think of them. Are they smooth, scooped, bright, dark, quiet, noisey, whatever?

I used the JM37 for a couple projects for a very short time. I would describe it as a bright mic. It worked very well on powerful singers, it just had a great presence about it. I loved it on my own voice, and started using it for all of my scratch tracks, over my KSM44, M-Audio Solaris, SP B1, AT 4040 and Blue 8-ball. I hated it on most female voices. My big complaint is that it's off axis rejection was horrible-- what I mean is that it picked up way more of the room than any of those other mics in a very non-flattering way, especially for a small commercial project studio that had the rooms pretty dialed in. I think it competes well in the $250 and under category, but I got it free with the Meek TwinQ, so I can't complain about that. Hope this helps.

Thanks Pete. Other than the off axis rejection, it sounds like you found it useful.

Anyone else?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just ordered one JM37-DP from PMI's B-stock list at $80, including shipping (the last one they had).

Looks like they ripped-off the design from the TLM 103.

Most mics look similar to other mics these days... how they sound is all that matters to me.

Regarding the B stock JM37-DP I just ordered ($80 delivered with a full warranty), it's not much of a risk. I haven't found a mic yet that I couldn't use for something ;)
