I have a roland cdx-1 disclab which I've continued to have annoying problems with such as losing info completely, failed formats, and medium errors. After much research on my part I called a roland rep and asked him straight up if there was a problem with the cdx-1's hs cdrw drives being faultly. He replied with a "yes" and basically told me that I was shit out of luck. I asked him if swapping out the old drive with a new one was a possibillity but he didn't say "no" and then told me he (as a roland rep) couldn't recomend it because he couldn't furnish me with any of the specs for the drive. So basically he confirmed to me I would be doing it at my own risk. I like the ease of use of this unit and would prefer to save it if possible. Has anyone done this to their cdx or similiar type unit?
