Has anybody had problems with their TMD1000

My associates have purchased their 3rd used TMD1000. There are some glitches with this unit (as well as the previous two they bought).
Should I tell them to keep it and get fixed or should I tell them to take it back to the store where they purhased it?

I bought a used one also but have had no problems with it yet *cringe*.

I have read of a few problems for sure on this site and another TMD message board.
I think alot of the problems were no audio signal and the LED going out.

Haven't had one problem with mine, except getting familiar with it in the beginning, and I still don't know it all that well.

I bought mine new and have opened it up 3 times - once to install new version software chip, once to install fx-d1000 and once to install if-td1000. All good - all working.

Maybe a more recent software version would help your friends Spin, I think you can get them free from TASCAM. They supposedly fix bugs in the older system - maybe that would help.

When I went to their BBS a ouple of weeks ago it wasn't working. :(

Looks like version 1.22 is the latest. Just call them and tell them you need the new one, and they should just send it. That is how I did it - I needed the new software in order for the fx-d1000 to work. Check your TM-D1000 first to see what version you have, if it is below 1.22, call em & get a free chip.

I know, I have been having erotic dreams about having one of those.

If I had 7 grand lying around, I would get the DM-24/MX-2424 combo in a heartbeat.

Damn, the thing is, if I am patient enough to save that kind of dough, something new will be on the market and I will be dreaming about that new thing.

Cool, so you are going to get to play with this thing, right?

I am in LOVE with this piece of machinery. :D
