Anyone interested in selling me a hardware synth cheap?(Yamaha s03, Motif, Triton, etc.)

I've been trying to find a good deal on one since this summer. I really want a hardware synth bad, I mean bad.

If of you have a hardware synth you dont use or don't need maybe youll donate it to me or give me a great deal.

Ya, I'd be happy to donate my Fantom X88. let me know your address, I checked shipping costs and its gonna be about $50.00 anywhere in the US. But as my time is precious the handling charges will be about $2750.00. Let me know, I accept paypal and I'll throw in some 808 samples for free!

On a more serious note, check out ebay. You can find a lot of rack synths for cheap. I picked up a XV5050 for $400.00 last year. If that's too much, I've seen Alesis Qr's go for under $200.00. I really don't think anyone would be willing to give a "great" deal though on a Triton or Motif. Probably the cheapest someone would part with one of these is $600.00, and that'd be a hard deal to find. (or a lucky last second bid on ebay). An S03 is a descent option though for a low cost synth. You could probably find one for $300.00 on ebay if your patient. Good luck.

Yeah, I've been on ebay. Trying to find a last minute bid and get a steal. I am only 15 so I can't sign up for an ebay account and my isnt going to let me use her credit card. So if I do find a last minute bid I cannot buy it.

What is a rack synth?

A rack synth is rack mountable sythesizer. It's basically the brains of the synth without the keyboard attached. You use a Midi keyboard controller to send the MIDI note on/off messages and other functions to control the synth. The rack synths are a lot cheaper than the keyboard workstation synths and basically do the same thing. If you don't need a weighted keyboard (realistic piano feel) you can find 61 key non weighted control keyboards for fairly cheap. What do you need a synth for? My recommendation for a low cost set up would be this:

with one of these:

used, you could find a controller for a lot cheaper than that I imagine. But I bet this set up this can be had for about $300.00 plus a couple bucks for a MIDI cable to connect the controller to the synth. Talk your parents into letting you use ebay or sign up and say you're over the age of 18 ( I don't condone this :) Or else the S03 that you said you wanted also goes on ebay for about $300 to $350.00. Good luck.

I want to make beats. I am stating a home studio and I want to do everything myself. No one is going to work harder for you than you.

Should I just get a program like Fl Studio 5 for this?

I already have an oxygen 8.

Ya, you don't need a Motif or a Triton if you just want to make beats. FL works just fine for that and it's a pretty easy program to use. Cheap too. A little higher on the chain is Reason which runs about $500.00 for the new Reason 3.0. It's neither better or worse than FL, just different. An Oxygen 8 controlling FL will accomplish a lot though for sure.

Oh, I got Fl Studio. I just didnt spend anytime with it. Its so different from reasons. Reason Adapted came with my Oxygen 8 and I got addicted to it. I wanted the full version but got Fl Studio instead. I messed with it about an hour tonight and its nice. I got a long way to go.

(I still want a Triton or Motif.) :D

are u using the vsti plugins in fl studio? theres some cool stuff to play with in there.
