hard drive recommendations for VR-800??

just wondering if any current VR-800 users had any recommendations for an internal
IDE drive for this unit. i heard that certain Quantum Fireballs work well but didn't know if certain speeds or sizes (GIGS) were preferred. ALSO,..is a special "caddy" required
or can you just crack open the unit and install one yourself? cheers.
