I have a Roland VS-840...the quality is VERY good...but I want to record the audio into computer software.

Just wondering how extensive I need to go on the sound card. Will the Audigy 2 depreciate the quality?

Any other suggestions on cards in the 100-200 dollar range?

I'm pretty sure that box has a coaxial S/PDIF, no?

If so, make sure you get a card with a coaxial S/PDIF I/O and your pretty much set. Two tracks at a time.

(If it has an ADAT optical (Not TOSlink or Optical S/PDIF) you can transfer 8 tracks to an audio interface with ADAT I/O.)

KEEP IN MIND that S/PDIF cables are different than regular RCA cables.

Also, if you're doing this in real-time, you should probably put a quick "CLICK" at the head of every track that you're going to transfer - You can use the click as a visual aid when lining the tracks up on the DAW.
