Hi,
New to this forum - but - I was wondering if anyone could point me to info/solutions to synching audio track (recorded live) with dub tracks (playback).

Basic set up is keyboard to mixer to PC audio soundcard (bog standard version AC97?). Then PC audio out to mixer. Monitoring via headphones through mixer.

The way I work is to lay down drum track, then play this back and add keyboard tracks. *But* - when the new recorded track appears in the sequencer panel it's always out of time:mad:. My current work around is to have a bar of metronome clicks to line it all up again. Slow and not always 100%.

I understand this is soundcard lag but I'm using ASIO direct X with Music Studio 2003 delux.

Ideally it would be nice if the recorded track would synch up from scratch. Any solutions?
Thanks,
Drat

Bog standard soundcards have about 50cents worth of chips in them. They are made for beeps, boops and light gaming, not precision music production.

You are ALWAYS going to have mediocre results with latency and timing problems.

You need a better soundcard....

Good guide and 'you cant go wrong suggestions' here:
