Hi all. I'm here for the second time with a new question/problem for your kind attention. I own a Korg D8 HD rec (8 digital tracks) plus a PC system for sequencing and midi stuff. I'm doing quite well with this set-up, BUT, the problem is the 1.4 GByte max internal capacity of the D8. The instruction manual suggests to buy and connect another external SCSI HD (4 GB max), or any removable disk system. OK, so I bought a new Iomega 2 GB Jaz drive, but simpy doesn't work!!! So now I'm desperate, because I feel anxious on buying another silly HD, and my actual budget is KO. Please help! Marco Colombo :-(

Hey Columbo:

Has your old rain coat worn out yet?

Suggest you contact KORG on the net and ask them to help you out. I've contacted Yamaha and most companies have E-mail info addresses.

Sorry I don't know more.

Colombo. When using an external drive on the d-8 be sure: The ex. drive is energized before the d8 or the d8 won't recognize it.The ex. drive's ID # does not match the d8's ID #.The ex. drive last in the chain is terminated. And the disc has been initialized or formated.Push "edit"then "<" then rotate the "value knob to select the drive you want to use.To check the drives push system until you see disc utilities this is where initial and format are as well. The d-8's drive is "I".Remember initializing or formating leaves the disc blank.Hope this helps.
