I started to hang my clouds this evening and got one all ready and realized my idea didn't seem like it was going to work.

I'm using fishing line and eye screws. After looking at the eye screws, I've decide they probably aren't even long enough to get through the sheet rock and into the stud. Additionally, it just doesn't feel like the fishing line is going to hold the clouds up.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Picture hanging wire and some longer eye screws. heavy fishing line should work fine but it seems like it would be a pain to work with.

I use fairly large eye hooks (like for hanging potted plants) and nylon "mason's twine." Mason twine is strong and easy to work with, if the ends fray put a drop of nail polish or glue on them.

No. I don't want anything heavy hanging over my head for obvious reasons.

Keep a phone near hand. You might need one incase one falls.

Are you using rigid fiberglass though? Then frames would not be necessary.

Yes, I'm using rigid. This is why I didn't use frames. Doesn't need it.

Maybe the fishing line will work....I'll just have to try some longer eye screws.

Fishing line comes in various test weights. just compare the weight of your trap to the test of the fishing line and add a 2X or 3X safety margin.

And again, depending on the weight of the panel an expanding wall anchor into the gyspum board should be able to hold it. Run a test if you are unsure. If you panel weighs two pounds put in one of the bolts and hang a 5 pound weight on it overnight. If it looks unchanged in the morning go for it.

The panel seems to weigh less than pictures I have hung up with nails...

I should be okay as long as I get some longer eye screws and am able to see the damn fishing line to hang it up. :D
