MUHAHAHA!! :D

Finally.. due to logistics I've been waiting for a half a year..

26mm finnish birch-plywood, carpetfinish, CNC-made-powderpainted steel grille, 2x10"plus tweeter and one 18" cab stacked. up to 600W. Speakon-lines, and divider..so that all under 75hz goes to 18".. dunno the thing's name in english, sorry... ;)

BUT NO IDEA OF THE ELEMENTS USED IN THIS!!!... :(

..it has no markings of any kind, screwed off one speakon from behind but no avail.. could be radio-shack...

well, I'll get to try it tomorrow or the day after with my abm-500 Ashdown, man!!.. Christmas allover again, now with snow! :p

Sorry to shamelessly bump this...

But got more info from the builder about this thing.

18" speaker is a Peavey Black widow
10" speakers are PAudio with a Fostex tweeter.

Both cabs are 700W RMS to 4ohms. Lower has been tuned to 40Hz..
. (perfect for a 5-string...?)
glassfiber-resin coated (insides) 26mm birch plywood.

Driven by an Ashdown 500 ABM evo II head.

Tried this the other day. Ofcourse, it can burry the 100W marshalls and drums, but surprisingly Master volume had to be turned to half!..
..Had forgotten how nice it is to feel the bass on the floor and the cone moving air so it wiggles your pants. :D
Many reviews stated that with wrong cabs the head sounds "boomy" but fortunately this setup seems fine, if you EQ the bass up the drums and the building start to resonate, but it still sounds tight. A little less serious low-end and you get a really nice "punch" and Attack (pick) to it.
The tube pre had very little effect!.. which was a downer.. It merely cut off the serious lows and added a little humbucker-ish crunch, I'm sticking with the transistor pre... that clarity and low end.. sweet.
When coupled sparingly on occasion with a russian-made BigMuff, shear Force-de-Majour..
This setup cost me some 1500euros, but I'm one really happy camper!! :D

Rockin'!

FYI, one of the problems with carpet/cloth covered cabs is that cats like to use them as scratching posts. But I'm sure you already know this. :D

Luckily I've got a girlfriend shaped like a 2"by4" usually dressed in wool sweaters. Kept the claws busy until cabs evacuated to rehealsalplace!! :D
