Well, I tried posting the question on the "mother of all threads" (you, know, THAT one) and didn't get any bites. Now I also have a related question, so I'll toss them out here and hope for better results.

1 - best way (config and mic type) to mic Leslie 147 when kicking bass (Hammond L-100)?

2 - best way to mic 147/ L-100 combo when playing manuals only?

3 - does answer to (2) differ with (a) style of music, or (b) where organ needs to sit in the mix?

4 - does answer to any of above questions change if we're dealing with Leslie 122 or MotionSound speakers?

5 - does answer to (1) change if I only have two inputs (VS-840 only gives two unless you're wlling to go lo-fi, but I can submix through a Mackie 1604 if necessary)?

6 - (the new question) best way to record an M-3 from the built-in speaker (10"?) that won't interfere with the organist kicking bass?

7 - does the answer to (6) change if not kicking bass?

8 - also re (#6): has anyone tried putting a mic'd Hammond (no Leslie) through a VST rotary plug-in, like the B-4? How well does it work? would you use a different mic if you were doing that?

Hopefully, 8 questions won't scare all y'all off! Answer as many or as few as you like...

I'll hold off with questions about my D-152 (no leslie) until after I get it up to snuff.

Thanks!
