Had to laugh at this. My Italian is a little weak (I know about 10 words), but this guy had modern techniques down. First half puts EVH to shame, second half uses drop tuning for bass line on the guitar. Amazing!

lol.. Jimmie Webster was doing that shit in the 50's. Who said any of that hammer on stuff ws new or original to EVH and his clowns?

This was the earliest recording I could find...My point was exactly that. There is no new thing under the sun. We just rehash the old. If someone were to play that first piece in the video, say through a nice strat and JCM stack or Rockerverb, they'd be "rock gods" but this stuff has been around for 60-70 years and these techniques were probably used in the 1400s or earlier.

Jimmie Webster published a book about the technique in the 50's. He was making recordings doing it in the 40's. There are anecdotal reports of people doing it before that. It was never new.. I wasn't suggesting that you claimed 1965 was the date...........

It has been an aspect of flamenco playing for much longer than any of this..
