Another revamp of a tune I wasn't satisfied with.I replace all the drums and percusion in the clean verse parts!I also added synth
strings.I include the lyrics this time,'cause no one could understand them last time around.Lyrics this uplifting should be shared with others!
"HALLUCINATIONS" Darkness fills the sky as a black cloud eats the sun
psycotic fantasy begun black holes swallow supernova spewing x-ray cosmic DNA in a distant quasars wake
Mushroom cloud tornados churning boiling oceans scalding sulfer skies in the incandescent night
Asteroids flashing crashing burning astral mortar barrage warfare pounds hear the heavens crashing down
(chorus)
And I believe that I control these fantasies I see
Conductor of some fucked up symphony master of a strange reality the center of the universe is me

Serpent insect fetus vermin oozing from disintegrating eyes
hear the buzz of swarming flies
Mongloid children chanting babble ritually set themselves afire
watch the flames grow higher and higher
Labarynthine barbed wire thornfields toxic rivers cresting jet black sludge As the water turns to blood
Walking corpses goosestep backwards marching to the rythm of the wind As insanity sets in
(chorus)
The sky is red the orphan heavens weep the sun is dead
Paralyzed confused consumed with dread the fragments of my psyce ripped to shreds A thousand wars erupt inside my head

Snow white angels copulate with bat winged demons breeding mutant spawn as the symphony plays on
Iron birds of fire swoop down breathing fire on their human prey
As they try to get away
UFO armadas landing lasers spraying cities turn to rust
Concrete crumbling into dust
Acid visions flash before believing eyes reality deformed
Ego dead and then reborn
(chorus)
And I believe that I control the fantasies I see
Coductor of some fucked up symphony master of a strange reality the center of the universe is me

A Masterpiece

BB,

Is that you playing everything. This song is classic!!

Beautifull mix, very listenable.

You da man!!

Now I go listen again.

BTW: Did all that really happen to you?

GT

Thanx a bunch for listening GT!
Yeah,I played eveything,(well, the drums and synth I programmed).
Actually, the subject matter is a mix of my own experiences with psycadelics, and picking the brains of people I've had to babysit because they were having a bad trip.Throw in a bunch of dark imagery(gibberish),viola!
Thanx again for listening, andI will surely return the favor!

Dude...

This is a pretty cool tune...but you are right, I never would have understood the lyrics without you posting them. Definitely a stream-of-conciousness kinda thing.

The verse sections have a great eery quality with the heavily chorused clean guitar sound. With the chorus, there is a nice transition to a distorted/wah guitar...I would like to hear a little more of that.

Great bass line. I'd like to hear the drums a little more, especially the kick. Guitar solo is great, but I think a little heavy on reverb...it muddies up some of the great licks.

Overall, great tune...definitely a mood piece. Nice work.

Thanx for the input AlleyCat!
I believe you're right about the wah guitar needing to be more upfront.I didn't notice the drums being too low,but I think I oughta give it a listen.A new mix might be in order.Thanx!

First of all, very cool song! I think I hear a little Sabbath influence too! :)

After hearing your other tune also, I think you keep the vocals a bit too low (sometimes).... and when that Wah guitar comes in, the mix doesn't sound right.. It almost opens a hole, where it should be creating a wall....i really don't know what I'm talking about so pay no attention.... I do know when I hear a good tune though, and this is a good tune.. I like the mood but I really don't like the way that Wah part sounds.. The effect on the voice gives it a 'Planet Caravan" sound. I'm not sure if you know that song but it's by Black Sabbath....and it's off Paranoid..

My biggest complaint is that Wah rhythm.... I really don't like it...and maybe the mix needs a bit more sparkle...Nice lead at 4 ish...

Bottom line, good tune! The writing, the lyrics, are all very good...

look forward to your new tunes!

Mikey likes it! I dig the "Lost Planet Caravan" vocal. I'd like more drum level but that's taking it to a fine point (which this tune deserves). Very cool!

Thanx for the comments guys.
You're right on about the Black Sabbath influenceB.SABBATH.I'm a huge fan,and the song is somewhat of an homage.
I will go back and listen to the mix and see If theres something I can do with the wah guitar and the drum level.
More to come soon!

Awesome lyrics man! One can almost taste this song. Very nice job and keep plugging away, Charva

Hmm...not sure why this sounds so unclear. I think there is a good song in there somewhere. The recording is really weak. The levels, the EQ, the relationship of the instruments in the mix...

For example at the 3:18 change the guitars disappear and then come in too low. Then there's the guitar with the picked chords in the larger part of the song... it's all over the place...levels...I would venture to compress that, then you could hear the other things in the mix without having to turn up that guitar so loud. It comes out sounding weak although it is loud. The lead guitar seems like it should come up front more I'd say. Hmm...need to go and listen again...

Thanx rats!I'll have to go have a listen. It would seem there is enough evidence here to justify remixing.
A couple reasons for problems with the mix could be.
1:Terrible speakers.I don't even want to talk about what I'm using for monitors.
2:This song constitutes the largest track count(14) I've ever worked with.I think maybe I should spend a little more time building the mix from the ground up!
3:Tin ear
4:Excessive use of alcahol durin the mixing process!
Thanx,I now know what I must do!

It almost has that ...out in the lobby of the arena, not hearing any audience, live kind of sound. Kinda drenched in reverb, and mushed together. Good tune, and spectacular lyrics.

Just to clarify,is the reverb good or too much.Thanx for the listen in either case!

I personally like A LOT of reverb, and if used with good artistic effect, I think will always be current sounding. The use on your song, as I alluded to, sounds like it washes stuff together, like you put an auditorium setting on your total mix. However, I don't really hear the reverb tails, mainly because there are no breaks in the song to hear them, but it sounds kinda dense sounding to me and like the whole mix could take a couple steps 'forward,' to give you more presence, punch, dynamics....all that kinda stuff... I does sound especially heavy on the lead gtr solo, and the drums are kinda boppin' along ...waaaay in the background....placement wise...and volume wise too, I suppose.

Wow beezelbubba, this is a cool tune, and great playing. It sounds great on these little speakers at work right now, so I can't really talk about how the mix sounds. Well done.

Thanx bobbo!I assure you,it was mixed on speakers at least as shitty as yours!I gotta do something about these speakers!
