I bought a Lexicon U42S USB Interface and struggled with latency for a few days. Today it seems to work after I set the manual latency setting to 1000!!!! I'm not sure how or why it works but I'm leaving this as is for now.
What the hey... I recorded a song and every track lined up just fine. The only latency was my crappy playing. The interface sounds pretty good, preamps are good. The guitars on this (4 Rhythm/1 Lead) are done with an SM57 straight in. The vocals are mixer to interface cause I wanted some compression/eq I was familiar with and it worked out okay. I found my NTK straight in was a little thin for my liking. This track is just a quick mix so it needs work (not to mention bass). I'm just happy I solved the latency problem. I'll do a more thorough review of the interface a bit later....

This is pretty cool man. I'm glad you got the thing to work. Would there be any way you could post a version of this without the drums? They sound kind of casio. I don't really find a problem with that though. The main reason I ask, is I just think it would sound cool like that. Maybe add a little bass. Nice sound though. I really like it! :D Sounds almost like a cross between The Beatles and the early Eagles. Very nice!

I like it. Definately add bass and change up the drums. 1000 is kind of crazy

Cool song. Reminds me a little of Paul Simon back in the mid to late 70's with a updated twist to it. Like the others, bass would go nice, and a different drum tone. Maybe more ethnic percussion on it.

Congrats on getting it working...

Gerry - does this mean you're becoming an "in the box" man?
this has always been one of my fav G&M tracks.
It's SOOOO Buddy Holly in guitar style & tone you should take a leaf from his book & play a cardboard box for the drum sound.
Glad you've sorted the interface probs.
I'm playing & learing a new one for on the run laptop sketches one of those Behro guitar USB thingos - an ebay job & very cheap - so if it doesn't work out it won't be a prob.

I have one of those Berry USB interfaces. I tracked some leads for you on it. I found the volume was a problem - could hardly hear the new/old. This lexicon has ample volume...

Hi IDO!

Voice and rythmn guitars sounds pretty good, only thing If I could change something:add some stereo effect (or "similar") for the solo *could works. it´s too centered IMO.

About the drums (or at least these tones):simply don´t matches well with your style...this one particullary suffer from snare (dull and "10 meters behind the band") and hihat has no dinamics (you could try at least less volume, can helps).

Overall, music, singing and guitar playing very good as usual.
Waiting for the bass guitar:)
