H/W synth like NI Absynth ?

What real h/w synth would be like NI Absynth ?
I like very much Absynth's athmospheric sounds but I cannot use it for a live performance. So I am looking for an equivalent hardware synth.
Any suggestions ?
 
Why can't you use it live? Get a laptop.;)
Cuz there is no hardware synth or softsynth for that matter, that sounds like absynth. The only thing the modular has in common is that the programming is software.
 
Well, it may seem funny, but I am a little bit wary on using a PC with Windows live. They have quite a reputation on "stability" and I have no plans getting a Mac.
BTW, are there people using VST's in live performance ?
 
Not necessarily.

I wouldn't take the cahce of a PC getting an exception error at the middle of a live show
 
I use the NI B4 live a pretty good bit. It's a pain in the ass hooking up MIDI cables and such but it's worth it in the end. The only problems I have are with the volume coming from the laptop. I'll be ordering an expression pedal soon so that will solve that problem.

Ok, using laptop live. But how is sound quality ? There are so many talkings about good sound cards and how they affect sound and latency. What options there are for a laptop ?
