Guys,need help...

Hi everyone..
I'm in a hurry to buy a "real" studio soundcard..Cause it will be the "heart of the studio" I want to buy a good one..I already have Live Platinum so I decided to keep it to work along with my new one..
I have Pentium III 750 AMD and I'm thinking about these soundcards..Midiman Delta66 or Aardvark ProLX6..

I need a Midi conectivity function which Delta has not and need a realtime DSP effects..I have a SpiritFolio mixer which I use for my mic ( phantom ) and really think I need no breakbox..

What can you recommend me?

not much help to Funky but...

I am in a very similar situation. I have a live value and am considering between the two cards. I like the LX6's headphone out w/volume control and the Midi. Seems the effects are kind of weak but hey. Only problem with it to me is the support. Their websight doesnt seem to have recent drivers. Im going to need windows 2000 and/or XP drivers when I upgrade. Can I assume Aardvark will deliver?

Lots o' delta endorsers 'round here. Some aard users too. It sure didn't take me long to pull out my sb cards. Useless as tits on a bull . . .
I'm packin'an old 16-bit Darla and a sek'd prodif +, both have very good support and updates are always available.

What is better? Aardvark or Delta?

Maybe I should get Yamaha DSP2416, what do you say?

I think that Aardvark has not much international dealers..( And it's easier for me to get a Yamaha..

So, what should I get?

P.S. You may point me other soundcard in that price
range?

Bayview Pro Audio sells the Aardvark LX-6 bundled with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 for $399. The Delta 66 sells for $307 by itself. I have the LX-6 and am extremely pleased with its' sound quality and the fact that it has a headphone output. However, the DSP is weak as was stated previously. Fortunately I knew this upfront so I wasn't too disappointed. Personally I found settling on a soundcard to be the toughest decision to make with respect to my DAW. Good luck and let us know what you end up purchasing.

Pentium III AMD ???

Is it a Pentium III or AMD processor? Really makes a difference when you are looking at pro-sumer and above sound cards (audio interfaces).

In case you haven't noticed on a thread I started in this forum, there is a price war going on with the Yamaha DS2416 DSP FactoryDSP Factory card. You can find one right now for about US $229. This includes either the ADAT option or the analog (AX44) option. About 4 weeks ago this package would have cost about $800. Keep in mind you will have to purchase software to run the board as it does not ship with it. However, it doesn't have MIDI input. Minnetonka MxTrax for DSP Factory ($199) seems to be a very good program but doesn't do MIDI. Go to
to read up on it. Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0 is also designed to run this card and does MIDI also (once you get it into the computer).
