Anyone use the GuitarPort for recording? I've got a POD, but I was thinking of selling it to make room for other gear. If so, I was considering getting one of these. Are they any good? I know they are limited in the simulations they do, but that really doesn't bother me - it seems to have the ones I like. Are there any problems with using it for recording?

I have a GuitarPort, its pretty amazing I think they are coming out with the next version very soon, which is free if you already have a guitarport, and its pretty much PODXT software. Its cheaper, but if you are just using it for home recording, it will do just as well. I am on the Beta for 2.0, and the sound kicks ass, its the same as PODXT,I think it just has fewer amp models.

I have one and I think it's pretty cool for recording or just sitting at the puter jamming. I haven't downloaded the new software yet because I haven't decided if I'm keeping it or not. I may get a V-AMP Pro because I do most of my main recording on the Fostex VF160CDR these days and only edit on the PC.

It sure is handy though. Takes up very little space and most of the models sound great after some tweaking.

This is my opinion and only my opinion.

I had one (guitar port) and sold it, didn't like it at al.

Im using a Pod Pro (and Bass Pod Pro) for recording (into SONAR XL) and love those puppies to bits !

I also really like the Digitech GNX2.

I have all hooked up to my soundcard via S/PDIF and it makes me very happy !
