I am looking to upgrade from Music Creator, (not the 2002 version.) I really like the stability and intuitive interface of this product, but I have no compressor and it limits me to 4 real time effects. Can someone who has Guitar Studio Pro please answer a few questions?

Can I select an external wave processor from the Tools menu like I can in Music Creator? Is there a wave editing screen view like the one in Pro Audio 9?

Is there a limit to the number of real time effects I can apply other than the limits of my PC?

Are you happy with the Cakewalk compressor/limiter?

Is GSP content to run on Windows 98 with MME and DirectX drivers, or is it built on the same platform as Sonar/Home Studio 2002 which runs better with WDM drivers and Windows 2000? I will be using Win 98 for a while longer.

Are you happy with this product overall? How would you compare it to other Cakewalk products you have used?

Thanks, Bill

If you want to use the cakewalk effects while tracking the mme drivers won't cut it.If you are willing to add effects later they'll do.
98 will not run the wdm drivers.
If you've got hardware effects you should be able to work around this.
