and The Brain...
I'm having a hard time finding the elastic part that goes across the arms of the holder that keeps the neck of the guitar in place (in case it gets bumped enough to fall out of the holder). Don't know what's it's called but the obvious terms turn up nothing on google or ebay. Don't like using my three guitar stand without them and buying a new stand for a 50 cent part is silly...

You could probably use a mini-bungee cord from the hardware store to replace it.

You go the supermarket and by some bunches of broccoli or asparagus. Remove the wide rubber bands from the bunches. Cook and enjoy the veggies. Use the rubber bands on your guitar stands.

If you like lobster, get some whole/live lobsters. They have the same kind of wide rubber bands on their claws.

You can make a complete meal for yourself and end up with a bunch of rubber bands for the guitar stands. :)

Thanks for the link and ideas guys. Didn't think of the bungie idea, I might actually some some in the basement. :)

Yes, I like broccoli and lobster. Definitely the most nutritious suggestion. :p

Cloth covered rubber bands for women's hair. 2 bucks at any grocery store. Works like a charm.

of all the guitar gadgets I have, and all the years playing and doing shows, a stand is the one thing I have never owned. I've always thought "the next thing I'm gonna get is a guitar stand", but then I don't.

A guitar stand will change your life forever, man. You should go for it.

I like my life. what if it changes it for the worse?

That might indicate that you need more than one guitar stand.

Keep buying additional guitar stands until your life is great.

P.S. if you have more guitar stands than guitars, you should buy more guitars until you have a one to one ratio. A seven guitar stand filled with seven guitars is a wonderful thing and will bring you much joy. I read that in a fortune cookie once.

I've actually been selling gear I never use. Maybe I'll get a couple 7 guitar stands, and just buy cheapy squires until they're full.

I bought a 5 guitar stand, but can't get 5 guitars on it if any of them are acoustics. There eventually may be gigs coming up where I'll need 3 acoustics - 2 6s and a 12. Eitehr we've got arrange the set lists right, or I'll need another 5-guitar stand, and no stages smaller than xx' X yy'! In our practice place, the stand is in front of my keys set up, it's a pain to get to!
