cool...
1 Interesting and intriguing guitar sound. Well played!"
{{{does this mean I finally fooled someone? LMAO... I use FruityLoops to compose on *shrugs* it ships with "Fruity Slayer" guitar generator}}}
2 Interesting and (like I said before) quirky melody line
3 This version is a lot cleaner than the earlier one I listened.
4 There is musical creativity behind this piece.
But:
The sonic landscape is barren . . . the guitar plays, the midi drums churn away in the background, the lead bits squirt some interesting melodic puncutation marks . . . and that's it. There is no sonic nor dynamic variety throughout the track, and so after a couple of minutes my brain says "I don't need to listen anymore, because nothing is going to change."
Yah, you really hit the nail on the head there, LMAO. Glad you were able to put it into words. I sit here and i go, "its pretty neat, but... I get bored in the middle", so yeah, I nkow what you mean.
So:
Think about adding dynamic and sonic contrast. For example, maybe cut the guitars and the kit after a minute or so, and let a keyboard play rhis . . . maybe in a baroque style. Add other midi instruments. Go for sounds that don't try to replicate actual instruments, so that people don't dismiss the imitations. Think loud and soft, think aural contrasts.
Holy (*&^, clear suggestions? Instructions? *I'm not worthy*, LMAO, but seriously, thanks! typically I don't get clear stuff from reviewers, its usually "vague".
But:
keep at it.
thanks, dude.
its easier said then done, but... at least I know what I am trying to achieve next... I appreciate it.
peace.
