Guitar signal doesn’t translate.

I’ve been working with a PODxt and Digitech. I get the tones set the way I want them in my headphones, but when I record (on Adobe Audition) the tones come out thinner and higher. I’m recording through the USB 2 port.

Anyone know how I can get the full sound in my headphones to translate. Is it the soundcard? Is it recording through USB ports? Is it just the hazards of recording DI. :cool:

maybe a pro can help you out more but ... are you recording at a decent quality?
 
first things first....get rid of the headphones and get some monitors. headphones hardly ever give you a true representation of the sound. i'd only use them for critical listening. http://www3.sympatico.ca/bvaleria/bluebear/articles/headphones.htm

however, i'm assuming you're recording in the room where you're playing and don't want microphone bleed. So i'd suggest either fixing the levels with monitors before recording and then listening through the headphones while tracking. of course the sound won't be the same but at least you'll know it's going to tape correctly. OR you could also not even mess with the sound at all and just record direct to your recorder. This way you can adjust the tone later.
