guitar rig greyed out

Hi Guys, Ive had guitar rig 4 running through cubase just fine for a while as a send effect.
Ive downloaded guitar rig 5 and its just not appearing.

When i go to the set up of the plugins, it sees it in the list, i run an update and it goes through that ok.
cubase can see guitar rig as a master effect but will not appear in the channel send effect panel on the left - also, ive attached a screen shot where it can see guitar rig under the audio tab at the top, but it is greyed out, has anyone seen this before, or can you help?

Also, when i set guitar rig as a master effect, it opens the program and it adds whatever effect to all channels, so its workign, but t=not as a single channel send effect.

this is so bizarre.
