Hello HomeRecording.com,
I wish to ask a few questions regard my setup to record guitar.
The following is a list of equipment I possess:
- JBL Studio Reference Monitors
- PC
- MobilePre USB Interface
- Digitech GNX2 Multi-Effects Unit
- ART Zdirect Passive D.I. Box
- Ibanez RG Guitar
Do I require passing through the D.I. Box if I am already passing the Multi-Effects Unit? I am unsure whether the signal will be ready for the interface.
What is the correct order I should arrange the equipment in my setup? If the D.I. Box is required, I am not sure where to put in it my setup.
Do I use balanced or unbalanced leads between my devices? I imagine shorter leads preserve more quality.
Playing through the DI Box and/or Multi-Effects Pedal, I notice when I play a note or chord on my guitar and let it ring out, the signal always cuts out as soon as it has reached a certain low level. Is there any way to stop this cutting out so my guitar can ring out naturally?
I appreciate all advice and wisdom.
Kind regards,
Kris
