Guitar Pro or Virtual Guitarist?

I came across the software Guitar Pro. What does it do?

Does it create realistic guitar sounds like Virutal Guitarist or is it just a notation software?

It's notation/tab software.

Yes, it's a notation/tab software that uses midi to play back the notes, which makes it easier to compose songs with guitar. That means you can write down a whole song in tabs or notes and it will play it all back to you. You can also write down notes for strings, bass, piano and even drums (+ a whole lot of other instruments as well).
You can also add an RSE (Real Sound Engine) which you can download from the guitar pro website to make the midi sound real, however, I don't think it sounds real at all.

If you play the guitar you should definitely have a look at it. It's a MUST
