I am new to this whole guitar synth universe, before I was very much the traditionalist but now I wish to experiment a little to keep things fresh.

Now, what I do when I write music is to work out the guitar parts on the guitar, then use a small keyboard to input the parts into cubase. This just means I can experiment and rearrange things more easily. As I'm on the move a lot, it means I can change something that doesn't quite float my boat without recording a new take with my guitar.

Does the Roland GK-3 allow you to connect via midi directly to a computer?

If not are there any ways around this or any other pickups specifically designed for this?

PS, Im not made of money :p, I only really can spend around £100 on this atm. :(

You need a converter to take the signal from the GK-3 and convert it to MIDI. Whether that's a full blown synth like a GR 50 or just a simple converter like the GI-20, it's still required.
There are pickup systems less expensive than Roland for this, that may do MIDI directly, not sure what is available any more, though. I've been with the Roland stuff for a while.
Now, you may be able to find a used GK-2 and a GI-20 to fit your budget. Keep an eye out.
