Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a usb audio interface cable so I can plug my guitar into my PC and use a program like amplitube 3 or guitar rig 4. I was wondering, does the price of the cable make a difference? Or are they more or less all the same? Sorry if this is the wrong thread, thanks in advance.

You'd do better asking this in the Newbies section of the forum. Basically, what you are looking for is a cable that will be a preamp and analog/digital converter. Figure it out - anything you buy for under $50 will most probably sound like shite!
For $99 you can get the Line 6 Guitarport which includes their guitar sim software, Gearbox or PodFarm. Not sure if the interface will work with other software, but it should!

Jeebus... plugging guitars directly into computers... what next?

Buy a proper interface. If you're here on a recording website then presumably you're going to want to record, so you'll need one anyway.

Is this what you are referring to?

GuitarCenter

I'm sure someone will be along to claim this product to be the greatest thing since sliced bread but you are better off buying a real audio interface.
