I have a Fender Stage 112 SE, US made. I wish I could say I have skilled ears, but I was wondering if any of you veterans have used this amp and have assesed optimal mic positions, weaknesses in general sound, and the best recording techniques to go with this sort of Fender sound. Personally, I 'm making full use of both the rhythem and lead side of the drive channel, any tips? Advice on how to tame that bright fender clean sound?

I'm also interested in any milti-mic position combos that generally work well. If it helps, I'm using a Parker Nitefly SA most all the time.

There is not exactly a really correct way to mic an amp, mostly it's what appeals to your ear. I usually place the mic 5 or so inches from the cone of one of the speakers. I havn't used that particular model. But, experiment with placing the mic in different spots and pay attention to what sounds good. Also the mic you use plays a huge role in the way it's going to sound as well.
