Guillemot ISIS Soundcard

I am currently running a Athlon XP 1700, loads of RAM and a Guillemot ISIS soundcard with Windows '98.

I used to use the soundcard with no problems at all, but recently seemed to have encountered 2 problems.

1) When using the Logic version that comes free with the soundcard I have no problems. However when trying to use it with Logic Platinum 4.7 or V.5 I have absolutely no luckwith the audio. Can somebody basically 'spoon feed' me all the info because I must be overlooking something fairly simple. What settings do I need to make on the program and the easi mme exe stuff?

2) I didn't used to have this problem but I seem to be getting a louyd hiss from all the outputs of my soundcard when certain settings are employed. On the mixing page the choice of monitoring setting seems to activate a massive hiss. Could this be a hardware damage problem or just a software thing.

I used to have an isis but i sold it because i wanted to upgrade. I didn´t have it for a long time so i can´t help you out. What i recommend you to do is to go to http://groups.yahoo.com, register and look for maxisoundstudio and maxistudio, there you´ll find some guys that know an awful lot about that card....

thanks alot I will try this. Just out of interest what soundcard are you thinking of upgrading to and why, the thought has crossed my mind.

I want to buy a Delta 1010, the thing is, that when I bought it, for the specific budget that I had, that was one of the cards with the most features that i could find for $300, you had a sampler, 8 ins, 4 outs and an ok sound. Now all of a sudden I encountered myself in that strange position when I realized that I had enough money to buy a new PC and a better soundcard- To tell you the truth, I never had any problems with it during the couple of months that i had it..it always performed great!!!!! I even gathered a list of links to sample sites with thousands of great wav downloads of instruments...if you want to, i can send you that list....
