Stand Up Comity
Got a ES57 today. It sounds like this. Those are three different guitars, three different amp models. Not quite what I expected. It seems to take the harshness out. I wonder if I had it too close to the amp. The results are good, I think, but not what the amp sounded like from where I was standing.

Man, I don't ever think I've heard you rock that hard

Another $20 mic eh? ;)

I just bought three more of those. Luckily I'm using them on toms. Pray for me.

Well, it's supposed to sound just like a Shure, and it may well do it. I'm a bit perplexed. I like the results though.

Meh, dynamics, I can't be bothered with 'em :p

Hey, I'll tell you a secret: I found a way to fit a tube in a Neutrik XLR ;)

though..I'm NOT a big fan of the 57, I like the way this track sounded...I think I'll pick up a 'bag full' of those cheap chinese knock offs...couldn't hurt using them on kids drums kits, that don't really sound all that great anyway!

I'll stick with the Senny e609 for my cabs, though...they seem to work really well for me...with NO eq...just sounds like the cab does to my ear...

Good luck with those, and TNX again for the track...I was wanting to hear more! :D

Groovy, man. Won't it get hot?

Maybe that's the way the amp sounds where the mic was positioned, ~4" off the grill and about 2/3 of the way from the center to the edge of the cone.

That has alot to do with it too. I've tried using a 57 as a room mic for an amp too. It still does'nt sound natural. I guess it would'nt be the same if it did though.

My guess is either the Epi or the Carvin...

you know if it's not the carvin that apl really wanted to use it though. :D

Yeah...those are some sweet guitars. Those guys don't get the respect they deserve...

i take it that you don't know about apl's carvin fetish? :D

The track is all three guitars. Can you guess in which order? The amp is a Line Spider II 112. Three different amp patches were used.
