thanks for the heads up peter! Sounds very encouraging! Can't wait to see about those mods!!!!! :D :D

Thank you DrBill for going through all the effort of uninstalling the pre and giving us internal pics. I know a lot of people are happy about it! :)

BTW, nice to see it has a bias pot. I was hoping they didn't put in a set of fixed bias resistors to cut on cost. I wonder if China O-scopes every preamp and sets symmetrical clipping.

Tube Mic Burn-in

Not to change the subject off of the pre's, but.......

How long is it suggested to burn in the 1200's and 6802T???? Or is that even necessary?

Thx.

12 hour burn in and 30 minute warm up before each use

Last night I sent out a lot of invoices. These are labeled and ready to ship. If shipping payment isn't received by Thursday, the label will expire and that order will go to the end of the line and be put in storage.
I feel that it's not fair to the others who are ready and waiting and to be put on hold.

On another note the shipping info that you provided when you ordered is where the gear will be shipped. If you updated your shipping info before I gave this info to the shipper, you're OK. I posted some time ago to up date your ship info. This is out of my hands. This is automated and the people who are packing and shipping, send me the number of packages, the weight, and dimensions, I then input this info in my Fed Ex account (which has your shipping address you provided) and I print out the label and you are billed. This was set up this way (thanks Randy) so this process will run smooth and fast. (remember last time?)

Chance. Just posting this FYI.

Happened to check the console this morning and my invoice was waiting for me (YAY!!!). Thought you should know that I never received an email. Not in my trash or junk folder. Nada. Maybe I just beat you to the punch, but I thought you should know.

Also, the payment confirmation screen does say PAYPAL on it, leading one to believe that one payed via PayPal. No new activity has shown up on my paypal account so I'm not too worried about it. Either way, it seems to have gone through.

Just thought I'd let you know (Even tho I'm sure you are aware already). Enough of this minutiae!

MORE MOD TALK PLEASE!

hey, can someone post the user console link again? i lost the link and can't find it.
thanks!

Yes pymt was received and will be going out next week

for those who have been invoiced....Im trying to get an idea of my shipping amount...I am going to be recieving 3 pres and 1 - 1200, 1 - 6802T and 1- AMC-3....

anyone with a similar order who can tell me about what the shipping will be?

Nothing here yet but I'm patiently waiting my turn....

:D

(I don't care what you say, I am not checking the user console every 15 minutes...):)

Though I'm not checking every 15 minutes. I have been checking about 3 times a day. I don't want to be too slow on the payment button. I'm so jones'in to get ahold of everything.

I just got an Email from someone who has moved. You will be notified by the shipper (Fed Ups or Usex) when the order has shipped. It will have to be your responsibility to notify the shipper of an address change

The people from China might perhaps better put timelocks on all the preamps & mics that we first actually _try_ them before heating up the soldering iron ;-)

I bet that of those ~1000 preamps more than a few will get new TXs/caps/whatever before they've seen power & a signal.... now how weird would that be ? ;-)

And perhaps even people swapping out those just-the-LED-driving opamps for more expensive types... yeah, why not make it an expensive DOA then right away ?

But more serious on the mod-topic: to avoid scattering tech-info & obscuring the ordering-thread, it's attempted to keep the mod-posts at GDIY a bit organized into a mic-pre-mod thread and a mic-mod thread. So for mods ignore the link I posted below and go for these:

A bit early perhaps, but I've added two placeholders to 'The Lab'-section for an attempt to organize threads that will start to emerge once the stuff has arrived:

[ACMP investiupgradifications] All things PREAMP:
http://www.prodigy-pro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27791

[ACM investiupgradifications] All things MICROPHONE:
http://www.prodigy-pro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=334580

Would be convenient to keep the various tech-stuff organized(how do we like the stuff, what's going on in there, what to mod, what to... etc etc...)

As I understood the Black Market is cleaned up after a while, so adding any tech-info here would get lost, so let's use those two threads in 'The Lab'...

Bye,

Peter

I didn't receive an invoice via email, either -- but lo and behold, there was an invoice on the user console. I paid (and it, too, said I paid thru Paypal -- though it doesn't reflect this on my account). Hopefully, it's steady as she goes and mine goes out this coming week. Not much has been said about the tube ribbon -- the ACM 900. Am I only the only one slap-happy about this mike?

That could be a problem. Unless FedEx has different policies than UPS, I don't think you can redirect a package until after one failed delivery attempt, and even if the buyer does this, unless the new address is in the same city and state as the old address, either the buyer or Chance (not sure how this works) will get hit with the full shipping charge a second time even if they just moved a block away and it happens to cross a city boundary.

I do not recommend shipping things out to a known incorrect address and expecting the buyer to be able to reroute it. Better to punt those people to the end of the queue and handle them manually afterwards. Doing anything else is just asking for trouble.

Failing that, your best bet if you have moved is to sit outside your old place on the day it is scheduled to be delivered and catch the FedEx delivery guy and sign for the package. Bring a photo ID.

Nothing will be shipped to a known incorrect address. The gear will be shipped to the address each person entered/updated to the point I requested "update". After that all the info was given to the shippers.
One can not update now because the shipping has begun.
