Unpossible!
Hey -

I have a project where the drummer needs some pretty serious help with some really fast double kick work. They didn't record to a click, and me trying to eyeball the space between each hit is only working so well. The short bursts are pretty easy, but the longer bursts, I tend to drift where he drifts (only not as bad). Is there a tutorial somewhere I can watch on using the grid and ruler? Or, does anybody have some tips?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

In order to set up the grid, You need to set the tempo. Then set the ruler up top to 'bars & beats'

The background will be the grid. The quantize function will move your slices to that grid. The problem you will run into is the tempo of the song will change and your grid will not. If you quantize the kicks to the grid, you will need to quantize everything else to the grid as well.

If you go to the beat calculator you can tap tempo the section and get the tempo pretty close. To do this you will probably need to do it section by section. The grid will only lock to your tempo so you will have to find some way to get the tempo close enough to what is already there.

If it is possible it might be a lot faster to just have the drummer re-cut to a click. (if he can :))
